Sto semplicemente cercando di prendere un KeyCode e una maschera di modifica e convertirlo in un KeySym usando l'estensione Xkb. Non riesco a capire perché questo non funziona. Sono finalmente riuscito a capirlo dopo un sacco di prove ed errori. XKeycodeToKeysym è apparentemente danneggiato e i calcoli del valore dell'indice non sono definiti per gli indici estesi.

The XKeycodeToKeysym function uses internal Xlib tables and returns the 
    KeySym defined for the specified KeyCode and the element of the KeyCode 
    vector. If no symbol is defined, XKeycodeToKeysym returns NoSymbol. 
    XKeycodeToKeysym predates the XKB extension. If you want to lookup a 
    KeySym while using XKB you have to use XkbKeycodeToKeysym.
